Life Skills for Effective Leadership and Personal Growth
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Wadihuda Institute of Research and Advanced Studies (WIRAS) conducted a dedicated life skills training session titled "Life Skills for Effective Leadership and Personal Growth" on 13th May 2025 at the Seminar Hall, WIRAS. The session was specifically organized for the administrative and cleaning staff of the institution as part of WIRAS’s ongoing initiatives to promote holistic growth and professional development across all sectors of the campus community.
The resource person for the session was Mr. Salmanul Farisi, Chief Administrative Officer, Wadihuda Group of Institutions, who brought his wide-ranging administrative experience and leadership insights to the programme. The event was inaugurated with a welcome address by Dr. Akhil R, Vice Principal and IQAC Coordinator, WIRAS. In his address, he highlighted the importance of life skills in ensuring effective communication, leadership, and personal growth at every level of institutional functioning.
Mr. Salmanul Farisi conducted an engaging session, combining both lecture and practical activities, focusing on the following core areas:
- Critical Thinking: Participants were introduced to the concept of analytical thinking, problem-solving techniques, and how to assess situations rationally and effectively. Real-life work-related scenarios were used to practice decision-making and reasoning.
- Creative Thinking: The session encouraged participants to explore alternative ways of thinking, innovation in daily tasks, and how creativity can contribute to improved job performance and satisfaction.
- Interpersonal Communication: Emphasis was placed on developing effective verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, empathy, and collaboration. Group activities and role-plays helped participants experience practical applications of positive interpersonal skills.
The programme was highly interactive, with active participation and enthusiastic response from the attendees. The activities encouraged self-reflection, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of the personal and professional value of life skills.
The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Razik K, Administrative Officer, WIRAS, who appreciated the efforts of the IQAC, the contributions of the resource person, and the active involvement of all staff members in making the programme impactful and meaningful.
This initiative reflected WIRAS’s commitment to inclusive institutional development and empowerment of all stakeholders by nurturing leadership qualities and essential life skills beyond academic boundaries.
