Department of Computer Science to Host Webinar on Patents and Innovation

The Department of Computer Science, WIRAS College, successfully organized a webinar on "From Idea to Innovation: Understanding Patents and Beyond" on 09 July 2026 in association with MyCrave Consultancy & Services, Rajasthan. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and the importance of protecting innovative ideas and creative works.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Sneha E., Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, followed by the Presidential Address by Mr. Ratheesh Raju, Head of the Department of Computer Science, and the Inaugural Address by Dr. Aboo Ishaque P. K., Principal, WIRAS College.
The technical session was led by Ms. Pooja Menon, Chief Operating Officer and Authorized Patent Agent, along with Ms. Priyanka Saini, Vice President & Client Relationship Manager, from MyCrave Consultancy & Services, Rajasthan. The session provided valuable insights into patents, copyrights, trademarks, design protection, and the role of Intellectual Property Rights in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Shamseer M. A., Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members and was highly appreciated for its informative and interactive nature.
