Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Group Cell

The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Group Cell at WIRAS is committed to supporting students from economically and socially marginalized communities. The Cell functions with the objective of creating an inclusive academic environment by identifying the needs of disadvantaged students and providing necessary support to ensure equal opportunities in learning and campus life.

Objectives:

  • To address the academic and non-academic challenges faced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • To facilitate access to scholarships, financial aid, and government welfare schemes.
  • To organize orientation programmes, skill development activities, and awareness sessions for empowerment and confidence building.
  • To act as a bridge between students and various support systems available within and outside the institution.
  • The Cell works in coordination with other support services and ensures that no student is left behind due to socio-economic constraints.
