Induction Programme 2025–2026,Department of English

The Department of English, WIRAS, kicked off its Induction Programme for the academic year 2025–2026 on 15 July 2025, warmly welcoming the first-year students. The session began with a heartfelt welcome by Ms. Riya, Assistant Professor, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for the newcomers. The highlight of the programme was an inspiring talk by Mr. Rajeesh Bala, noted writer and Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism. Drawing on the words of Buddha “It doesn’t matter what you do, but how you do it” he encouraged students to approach literature and life with purpose, creativity, and mindfulness. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Nivedya Das, Head of the Department. An engaging and thought-provoking start, the programme set the tone for a meaningful academic journey ahead.
