Institutional Visit to Ayanika Mental Health Research Centre
The PG Department of Psychology, WIRAS, organized an institutional visit to Ayanika Mental Health Research Centre on 8 January 2026 for 4th Semester B.Sc. Psychology students as part of their academic curriculum.The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to community mental health services and professional psychological practices. During the programme, students were introduced to various services offered by the centre, including counselling, mental health awareness activities, research initiatives, and community outreach programmes. Mental health professionals interacted with the students and explained the importance of early intervention, ethical practices, and community-oriented approaches in mental health care. The session also highlighted the role of psychologists in promoting mental well-being and reducing the stigma associated with mental illness. Students actively participated in the interactive session and gained valuable insights into career opportunities and professional responsibilities in the field of community mental health. The visit helped enhance their practical knowledge, professional awareness, and understanding of mental health services beyond clinical settings. The programme was successfully coordinated by Ms. Arathi D and Ms. Rajula P P, with the support of student coordinator Mr. Fathimath Shafna.
