Library Day Competitions 2025

The Department of English organized a series of competitions on 12 August 2025 in connection with National Library Day, celebrating the spirit of reading and literary engagement. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments, showcasing their creativity, critical thinking, and passion for books. As part of the celebration, two competitions were conducted. The Classroom Library Setting Competition highlighted students’ innovative abilities in designing and organizing classroom libraries, with evaluation based on creativity, organization, accessibility, and presentation. The winners were BSc Psychology (1st Year) – First Prize, MCom (2nd Year) – Second Prize, and BA English (1st Year) – Third Prize. The Book Review Competition provided a platform for students to critically engage with literature and present well-structured reviews demonstrating originality and analytical depth. Fathima (BCom CA, 2nd Year) secured the First Prize, followed by Amana (BSc Psychology, 1st Year) with Second Prize, and Noora Shad (BBA General, 1st Year) with Third Prize. The programme successfully fostered a culture of reading and intellectual engagement among students. The Department of English extends heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and sincere appreciation to every participant for their active involvement. Prizes were distributed during the weekend programme.
