Library Orientation Session Equips Students with Essential Skills
As part of the induction programme, the Department of Computer Science at Wadhihuda Institute of Research & Advanced Studies (WIRAS) organised a Library Orientation session for first-year BCA students on Wednesday. Held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in Room No. 11, the session was led by Mr. Devaraj M, Chief Librarian, who guided students through the effective use of the institution’s library facilities and services.
The orientation covered key aspects such as the gate entry procedure, use of the property counter, and navigating the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) to locate books efficiently. Students also received an overview of the library’s rules and regulations, the process for borrowing and returning books, and access to e-learning resources.
A special highlight was the introduction to the “New Arrivals” section, designed to keep readers informed about the latest additions to the library collection. The session was interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions and clarifying their queries, ensuring they are well-prepared to make the most of the library throughout their academic journey.
The orientation marked an important step in helping new students transition smoothly into their academic life at WIRAS.
