Mental Health Awareness Session by WIRAS Psychology Department
In observance of World Mental Health Day 2025, the PG Department of Psychology, Wadihuda Institute of Research and Advanced Studies (WIRAS), organized a Mental Health Awareness Session at Kunhimanagalam Anganawadi on October 15, 2025.
Ten students from the M.Sc. Counselling Psychology (Third Semester) actively participated in the programme, delivering an awareness talk on emotional well-being and resilience. The students also performed a role play depicting common mental health challenges and conducted a community survey to assess public attitudes toward mental health.
The initiative aimed to promote positive mental health, reduce stigma, and encourage open discussions on emotional care within the community. The students were accompanied and guided by Ms. Fathimath Sanaa K. K. and Ms. Dilna Surendran, faculty members of the department.
The event received positive feedback from community members and reflected WIRAS’s continued commitment to social outreach and mental health advocacy.
