Strengthening the spirit of service and compassion, NSS Unit 48 of Wadhihuda Institute of Research & Advanced Studies (WIRAS) continues to garner support for Nandana Suresh, a Vilayancode native undergoing a kidney transplant. The latest contribution came from NSS Unit 57 of St Joseph's College, Pilathara, which handed over Rs 12,000 in aid of her treatment.

The contribution was formally handed over by Dr. Denny Philip, Principal of St Joseph's College, along with Programme Officer Ms. Raji C. Nair, Assistant Manager Father Melvin Devassy, Palliative Care Club Convenor Sheena K, and NSS Volunteer Secretary Abhimanyu P. V. Representing NSS Unit 48 were volunteers Muhammed Zayan Zakaria, Muhammed Fawaz M, Anas P. C., and Muhammed Adil, who received the donation on behalf of the unit and the beneficiary.

This generous gesture adds to the Rs 48,324 previously raised by NSS Unit 48 through local fundraising campaigns in Payyannur, Taliparamba, and Pazhayangadi; Rs 36,669 collected by NSS Unit 10 of Payyannur College; and Rs 28,870 contributed by Sir Syed College NSS Units 14 and 15. With this latest contribution, the total financial support for Nandana’s treatment has now crossed Rs 1,25,000.

This collective initiative stands as a shining example of the spirit of the National Service Scheme (NSS), demonstrating how student volunteers and institutions can come together to make a meaningful difference. NSS Unit 48 extends heartfelt gratitude to St Joseph's College, Sir Syed College, and all NSS volunteers for their timely and generous support.
