NSS Unit Visits ASHRAYA – A Journey of Empathy and Service
The NSS Unit of WIRAS College visited “ASHRAYA”, a society for differently abled people at Mathamangalam, as part of its outreach and service initiative.
As a gesture of support, the volunteers contributed groceries collected from within the NSS family and actively engaged in cleaning the building and premises. The team was warmly welcomed by Mr. Ravi, Mrs. Shobha, Mr. Govindan, and others with a traditional ceremony. Their heartfelt hospitality touched everyone, especially when they served a humble Sadhya that filled the volunteers with joy and gratitude.
The formal function was inaugurated by Programme Officer Mr. Rajeesh V V, while former volunteer secretary Mr. Shithil M V delivered the vote of thanks.
For the NSS volunteers, the visit was an enriching and transformative experience. Spending time with the inmates and officials allowed them to develop a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by differently abled individuals, nurturing empathy and social responsibility.
