Orientation Programme on Counselling

The PG Department of Psychology, WIRAS, organized an Orientation Programme on Counselling on 2 February 2026 at the Seminar Hall for PG 1st and 2nd year students. The programme aimed to promote mental health awareness and emotional well-being among students while addressing academic stress, emotional challenges, and adjustment issues commonly faced during postgraduate education. The session was handled by Muhammed Shafeeq, who shared valuable insights on mental health, stress management, coping strategies, and the importance of seeking timely professional support. Through interactive discussions and practical examples, students gained a better understanding of counselling services and self-care practices. The session also encouraged students to develop a positive attitude toward counselling and helped reduce the stigma associated with seeking psychological help.
