Outreach Programme on E-Commerce Consumer Rights Awareness

The Department of Management Studies, WIRAS College, conducted an Outreach Programme on E-Commerce Consumer Rights Awareness on 09 July 2026 in the nearby residential community. The programme was carried out by student representatives under the guidance of Simi Miss and Madona Miss.

As part of the door-to-door awareness campaign, the team visited nearby households and educated residents about consumer rights in online shopping. The awareness sessions covered topics such as safe online purchasing, identifying genuine e-commerce platforms, secure digital payments, protection from online scams, return and refund policies, and the grievance redressal mechanisms available under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

The residents actively interacted with the team, shared their online shopping experiences, and clarified their doubts regarding digital transactions. The programme successfully enhanced awareness among the community about safe and responsible online shopping while encouraging informed consumer practices. The outreach activity also strengthened the students' sense of social responsibility and community engagement.
