Project Orientation Programme Held for Fifth Semester BCA Students

The Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Directorate of Research, successfully organized a Project Orientation Programme on 25th July 2025 for fifth semester BCA students. The session, titled “Project with a Research Mindset,” aimed to instill a deeper understanding of the research approach in academic project work.

The orientation programme was conducted by Dr. Vineeth Kumar V, Research Director at WIRAS, who delivered an insightful and engaging session. He encouraged students to look beyond routine development work and adopt a mindset of inquiry and innovation while undertaking their final year projects. His talk emphasized the importance of curiosity, critical thinking, and the value of contributing to the academic and practical knowledge base through well-structured research projects.

The session began with a formal welcome address by Ms. Suja KV, faculty member of the Department of Computer Science. In her remarks, she underlined the significance of nurturing research aptitude among undergraduate students to enhance the quality and impact of their academic work.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from BCA final year students, who actively interacted with the resource person. They raised pertinent questions related to project selection, research methodologies, and practical execution strategies, reflecting their keen interest and engagement with the topic.

Overall, the orientation programme was a valuable initiative that helped bridge the gap between academic projects and real-world research thinking, setting a strong foundation for students to approach their final year work with clarity and purpose.
