Seminar on Decolonizing the Bard at WIRAS

The Department of English at Wadi Huda Institute of Research & Advanced Studies (WIRAS) is set to host a seminar on “Decolonizing the Bard: A Postcolonial Reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s Canon” on 22nd September 2025, Monday, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the B. R. Ambedkar Seminar Hall.

The seminar aims to revisit Shakespeare’s works through a postcolonial lens, encouraging students and scholars to critically analyze the Bard’s canon in the context of colonial histories and cultural reinterpretations.

Mrs. Reshma Balan K., NVT Senior English, GVHSS Edayannur, will be the Chief Guest of the programme. The event promises to offer fresh insights into Shakespearean studies, blending literary scholarship with contemporary critical perspectives.
