Seminar on “Gender, Power and the Therapeutic Encounter” Conducted at WIRAS

The PG Department of Psychology, in association with the Anti-Discrimination Cell, organized a seminar on “Gender, Power and the Therapeutic Encounter” on 25 March 2026 at the Seminar Hall, WIRAS. The session was led by Dr. Mizaj KV, Assistant Professor at Indira Mahindra School of Education, Mahindra University, Hyderabad. The seminar offered meaningful insights into the role of gender and power dynamics within therapeutic practices and was highly engaging for the participants. The programme began with a welcome address by Ms. Sahla Abdurahman, Head of the PG Department of Psychology. Mr. Aboo Ishaque, Principal of WIRAS, presented a memento to the resource person in appreciation of the informative session. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Anusree, a second-year Applied Psychology student. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Sana Nizar, Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Cell.
