Statistics Across Disciplines: Orientation for Minor Course

The PG Department of Psychology at WIRAS organized an orientation session titled “Statistics Across Disciplines: Orientation for Minor Course” on 25 July 2025. The session was led by Ms. Majida C H, Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics. The orientation aimed to familiarize students with the Statistics minor course and its significance in academic and interdisciplinary learning. Ms. Majida provided a detailed overview of the course structure across different semesters, highlighting the major topics included in the curriculum and their practical applications in research and data analysis.She also explained the importance of statistics in everyday decision-making and emphasized how statistical knowledge supports various disciplines, especially in academic research. The session was interactive and informative, with students actively participating, asking questions, and gaining clarity regarding the course content and future scope of the subject. The programme helped students develop a better understanding of statistics and encouraged greater interest in the minor course.
