Unlocking the Mind: WIRAS Psychology Department Inspires Future Researchers

The PG Department of Psychology, WadiHuda Institute of Research and Advanced Studies (WIRAS), Vilayancode, hosted a one-day orientation program titled “Unlocking the Mind: An Orientation on Psychological Research” on 7th August 2025.

The session, led by Dr. Vineethkumar V, Research Director at WIRAS, introduced final-year BSc Psychology, MSc Counselling Psychology, and MSc Applied Psychology students to the essentials of research design, methodology, literature review, ethical practices, and publication.

The event featured a welcome address by Ms. Athira Prevy and a keynote by Ms. Sahala Abdul Rahman, both of whom inspired students to embrace research as a vital part of their academic journey.

With interactive discussions, practical guidance, and career insights, the program boosted students’ confidence to undertake research projects and sparked interest in higher studies. Positive feedback reflected the session’s impact in building a strong research culture within the department.
