WIRAS Conducts Emergency Awareness Workshop in Observance of CPR Awareness Week
In connection with CPR Awareness Week, the NSS Unit of Wadihuda Institute of Research and Advanced Studies (WIRAS), in collaboration with the Department of Management Studies, organized an Emergency Awareness Workshop on 16 October 2025. The workshop aimed to educate students on fire safety, first aid, and effective response during emergencies.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Rajeesh V. V., NSS Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Journalism. Dr. Rasna T. P. P., Head of the Department of Management Studies, delivered the presidential address. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Aboo Ishaque P. K., Principal of WIRAS, with felicitations by Dr. Vineethkumar V. (Research Director), Mr. Vinayakan V., and Mrs. Dhanya V. M., Assistant Professors in the Department.
The core session was led by Fire and Rescue Officers Mr. Arun K. Nambiar, Mr. Liju P. P., and Mr. Kalesh Vijayan, who gave practical demonstrations on fire extinguishers, CPR, and rescue operations. The session was moderated by first-year management student Adnan Ahmmed, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Madona Devasya. The workshop was both engaging and educational, equipping students to act responsibly and bravely in emergencies.
