WIRAS Conducts English Proficiency Assessment
The Department of English, WIRAS, conducted a Baseline English Proficiency Test for first-year undergraduate students from all departments on 11 August 2026. Held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the assessment evaluated students’ foundational skills in grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing. The test was designed to assess the existing English language proficiency of newly admitted students and identify areas requiring focused improvement. The results will serve as a baseline for designing remedial, bridge, and language enhancement programmes tailored to students’ needs. The assessment will also help the department monitor students’ progress through subsequent evaluations and support their gradual development of effective English language skills.
