WIRAS Crowned Champions at Kannur University Interzone Cricket Championship 2025–26

The cricket team of Wadihuda Institute of Research and Advanced Studies (WIRAS), Vilayancode, emerged as champions of the Kannur University Interzone Cricket Championship 2025–26, creating history for both the University and the institution. This was the first time WIRAS qualified for the Interzone competition, earning entry by defeating C Zone champions Payyannur College in the zonal final in a one-sided match that showcased their clear supremacy.

The championship, held at the Mangattuparamba University Campus, saw WIRAS defeat strong teams including SN College and Government College Kasaragod, before overcoming the reigning champions, School of Physical Education, in the final. The victory highlights WIRAS’s commitment to excellence in sports alongside academics.
