WIRAS Launches Tourism Club to Promote Culture, Heritage, and Sustainability
The Wadihuda Institute of Research and Advanced Studies (WIRAS) marked a significant step towards cultural awareness and sustainable development with the inauguration of its Tourism Club on 17th September 2025. The launch event took place at Azadi Circle on the WIRAS campus.
The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. Aboo Ishaque P. K., Principal of WIRAS, who emphasized the pivotal role of tourism in fostering appreciation for culture, heritage, and environmental sustainability. In his address, Dr. Ishaque highlighted how such initiatives can educate students about the importance of responsible tourism while also encouraging them to become ambassadors of local traditions and eco-conscious travel.
The inaugural ceremony included a tree-planting session, symbolizing the club's commitment to green practices and sustainability, followed by an orientation session attended by students and faculty members.
The Tourism Club aims to organize educational tours, heritage walks, cultural exchange programs, and sustainability drives, thereby enriching the academic experience through practical exposure and community engagement.
