WIRAS Men Cricket Team Creates History

 WIRAS College created history by winning the Inter-Zone Men’s Cricket Tournament organized by S.N. College, Kannur, held at the University Stadium, Mangattuparamba from 11 to 13 January 2026. The prestigious tournament witnessed the participation of eight teams representing different zones of Kannur University. Displaying exceptional skill, discipline, and teamwork, the WIRAS men’s cricket team emerged as champions by defeating SPE & S College, Mangattuparamba in a thrilling final. This landmark victory marks the first Inter-Zone cricket title in the history of WIRAS College. The tournament also served as a selection platform for the university team, with five WIRAS players selected for the South Zone Inter-University Cricket Championship. Adding to the accolades, Mr. Muhammed Afreed, a First BA English student, was adjudged the Top Scorer of the tournament, underlining the team’s outstanding sporting excellence and dedication.
