WIRAS Psychology Students Visit Mimhar Centre for Practical Learning

The students of M.Sc. Counselling Psychology (First Semester) from the PG Department of Psychology, WIRAS, visited the Mimhar Centre for Psychiatry and Counselling, Malappuram, on 5th November 2025. The visit, organized as part of their academic curriculum, aimed to provide students with hands-on exposure to the functioning of a professional mental health institution.   The students were accompanied by faculty members Ms. Arathi and Ms. Nasiha, who guided them throughout the visit. During the interactive session, Mr. Jumaan, Clinical Psychologist, and Mr. Shabeer, MD and Psychologist of MIMHAR, shared their professional insights and experiences. They explained the centre’s objectives, services offered, and the significance of counselling in modern society.   The experts also discussed emerging trends and challenges in mental health, stressing the importance of awareness, early intervention, and professional ethics. The session concluded with a lively discussion, where students clarified their queries on clinical practices.
