NSS to Visit Tree Museum at Central Prison

As part of the World Environment Day observance, NSS Unit 48 of WIRAS is organizing a visit to Pachathuruth (Green Place) at the Central Prison and Correctional Home, Kannur, on 5 June 2026.

The programme aims to provide volunteers with an opportunity to learn about innovative environmental conservation practices and sustainable green initiatives undertaken within the prison campus. Mr. K. Venu, Superintendent of the Central Prison and Correctional Home, Kannur, will formally inaugurate the programme at the prison premises.

Volunteers of NSS Unit 48 will participate in the visit and interact with the officials to understand the significance of environmental stewardship and community participation in creating and maintaining green spaces. The programme forms part of the unit’s efforts to promote environmental awareness and responsible citizenship among students.
