NSS Unit 48 Cleans Meenkunnu Beach

As part of the World Environment Day observance, NSS Unit 48 of WIRAS organized a beach cleaning drive at Meenkunnu Beach in collaboration with Azheekode Grama Panchayat on 5 June. The programme was coordinated by Juraij Abdul Jabbar and Sana Shamsudeen.

The event was inaugurated by K. Sanila, President of Azheekode Grama Panchayat. Volunteer Secretary Ridha Aysha M delivered the welcome address, while Shehwa Fathima presided over the function. Juraij Abdul Jabbar proposed the vote of thanks.

Despite heavy rainfall, the NSS volunteers enthusiastically carried out the cleaning drive and collected seven bags of plastic waste from the beach premises. The programme highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, responsible waste management, and community participation in protecting coastal ecosystems and promoting a cleaner environment.
