Remembering Hiroshima, Reflecting on Peace

The E-Commune – Communicative English Club of the Department of English, WIRAS, in collaboration with the Tourism Club, observed Hiroshima–Nagasaki Day on 6 August 2026 with a commemorative programme titled “Ever-Bleeding Wound of Hiroshima.” The programme featured a documentary screening depicting the devastating humanitarian consequences of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. An interactive discussion followed, encouraging students to reflect on the horrors of war and its lasting impact on humanity. The programme highlighted the enduring importance of peace, compassion, global harmony, and peaceful coexistence, while reminding participants of humanity’s collective responsibility to prevent such tragedies from recurring.
