NSS Marks Nature Conservation Day

NSS Unit 48 of Wadihuda Institute of Research and Advanced Studies (WIRAS) observed World Nature Conservation Day at the Kannur Kandal Project of the Wildlife Trust of India, Thuruthi, Edat, through a programme combining environmental conservation and academic engagement. Led by Mr. Naveen Kumar V. K. and Mr. Barath Kumar A., volunteers visited the mangrove nursery and participated in the preparation of bare-root seedlings for restoration activities. The programme was guided by Mr. Rajeesh V. V., NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Sanal C. Viswanath, Manager of the Kannur Kandal Project, and Mr. Vimal Lakshmanan. An interactive panel discussion on Environmental Psychology, presented by PG Psychology students, followed the field activity. The session was moderated by Mr. Rajeesh V. V. and felicitated by Dr. Thaniya Kaliyanthil Leela, Head of the PG Department of Psychology. Ms. Anushka C. K., Ms. Delna Surendran, and Ms. Vaishnavi V., Assistant Professors of the department, also attended the programme, which reinforced the importance of environmental conservation through interdisciplinary learning and community participation.
