Women Development Cell Inaugurated with Awareness Session on Health and Hygiene at WIRAS

The Women Development Cell (WDC) of WIRAS organized an inauguration ceremony along with an awareness session on “Health and Hygiene” on 8th December 2025 at 10 a.m. in the Seminar Hall. The programme aimed to familiarize students with the objectives of the Women Development Cell and to create awareness about essential health and hygiene concerns among women.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Nasiha, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Psychology. The presidential address was delivered by Ms. Madona M. Devasia, Faculty Coordinator of the Women Development Cell. The session was formally inaugurated by Dr. Aboo Ishaque P.K., Principal of WIRAS, who appreciated the efforts of the WDC in organizing a timely and meaningful programme.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ashna K.K., Chief Medical Officer of Ashnas Wellness Clinic. She spoke in detail about women’s health and hygiene, addressing common medical concerns through an interactive session. Felicitations were offered by Mrs. Sruthi, HoD, Department of Hindi, and Ms. Shahina, Assistant Professor, Department of English. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Chandrika T.V., WDC member.
